Stranger Danger

13th July 2018

The Academy reacted quickly this morning after an incident involving two girls on their way to school.

Students, parents and other schools were alerted after three men in a white Ford Transit-style van grabbed one of their bags while they were walking along Merlin Road.

The police are investigating and keeping an open mind on whether it was an attempted robbery or something more sinister.

Principal Ms Zoe Bidmead said parents should remind children of Stranger Danger.

“Our priority was the welfare of the students involved,” she said. “They are understandably shaken but, other than that, they are okay.

“They and we are assisting Humberside Police. Nothing is more important than the safety of our children and we quickly alerted the other students and nearby schools about the incident.”
