    These sessions will provide your child with the opportunity of valuable time to catch up or revise any areas for development within the specific subject areas.

  • NEW YORK UPDATE - LUGGAGE TAGS

    Today we took delivery for the Final New York Pack! If you have a child on this trip, you will be recieving a luggage tag next week. We have sent questions from last nights meeting over to the tour operators and will update the website when we hear back.

     

     

  • Year 11 Easter Intervention

    There will be a number of intervention sessions taking place during the Easter holidays.  These sessions will provide an opportunity for Year 11 students to revise and or catch up on various areas within specific subjects. A letter will be issued during the last week of term containing the schedule of sessions. If you have any concerns regarding these sessions please contact Mrs Nixon in the first instance.

  • New York Trip - Parents Meeting

    Our last Parents Information Evening for the New York Trip will be held at the Academy on the 10th March 5:30pm. Although many questions will have already been answered in the previous meetings, this may be the last opportunity we have to meet before we leave for this exciting trip.

  • Spine Chillers Writing Competition

    Some of our students have recently been entered into the Young Writer's Competition called 'Spine Chillers Mini Saga' in which they had to write a 100 word sinister story. Currently 50 have been successful and will be published within a special anthology. The company received thousands of stories from all over the UK and work was selected based on imagination, perception, expression and creative use of language.   • Year 9 Options Evening

    26th February 2016

    Year 9 Options Evening will be taking place on Wednesday 2nd March 2016 between 6.00pm and 8.00pm.

    This evening is an opportunity for you to find out more about the subject choices your son/daughter is able to make for the final two years of his/her time at Melior Community Academy.

    During the evening there will also be a short presentation about the options process held in the Atrium at 6.00pm and 7.15pm.

  • 2FACED Dance Performance

    2FACED DANCE COMPANY worked with a group of our Year 8 Boys over 3 seperate days. This video is the final performance which was held at the Plowright Theatre in Scunthorpe as part of the Dance Company's UK Tour. 

    We would like to say a huge well done to the students who took part and congratulate them on their achievements.

    Due to unforseen circumstances, resulting in a loss of electricity and heating, the Academy is closed for today (8th February 2016)

  • Young Voices 2016

    29th January 2016

    Last Friday 100 pupils from Melior teamed up with Leys Farm Juniors to perform in this years Young Voices concert at Sheffield Arena.

    The group performed a range of material alongside other schools to create a mass choir of 5100 singers.

    The annual sell out trip was a huge success, so much so that we hope to sing our hearts out with an even bigger choir at the 02 Arena in London next year.

  • Education Welfare Officer Scam

    May we please draw your attention to a letter that will be going out to all parents today.

    The Education Welfare Service have made us aware of a scam that is currently under investigation by Humberside Police. The scam allegedly involves an individual visiting properties with offical Education Welfare leaflets and demanding payment of a fine in relation to school attendance with the threat of prosection should the fine not be paid.

  • Anti Bullying Week

    During Anti Bullying week, peer mentors lead assemblies to Yr7 and Yr8 about preventing and reporting bullying.

    We had posters displayed around school and poster competitions in form time.


    All form groups had information about how to recognise bullying on the daily bulletin.

    We held a none uniform day on Friday (Wear something blue)

    Stickers were made and given out to students.

  • Year 12 Presentation Evening

    23rd November 2015

    Our 2015 cohort of students had the opportunity to return to us on Thursday, 19th November for our Year 12 GCSE Certificate Presentation Evening.

    Students were presented with their GCSE certificates together with some special awards. Congratulations to Yasmin Mwambire who won our "Student of the Year" award.
