  • October - Staff 'Star Of The Month'

    Each month staff have the chance to nominate their colleagues for 'Star Of The Month'

    This is an opportunity for any staff member of the Academy to be celebrated for their work, supportive nature and dedication to the development of the students.  

    We are pleased to announced that our first winner was Mrs Gorbutt (Data, Assessment and Examinations Manager).

    Staff noted how helpful and approachable Mrs Gorbutt is.


  • Archaeology Dig Lincoln - History Department

  • 2FACED Dance Company

    22nd October 2015

    Last week, some of our year 8 boys took part in a Dance Residency with 2FACED Dance Company. The company is an all male dance company who focus on traditional contemporary style and fuse it with breaking. The professionals (James and Jake) were overwhelmed with our boys work ethic.

    The company will return in November for another day, before our students perform the work at the Plowright Theatre.

  • Bake for Macmillan Cancer Support

    21st October 2015

    On the 12th and 13th October, 9 Endeavour ( together with few pupils from other year 9 groups) stayed for period 6 to bake and decorate biscuits with a Halloween style to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

    Their form tutor, Mrs Rimes, is also planning to do another bake before Christmas.

    Congratulations to the students on this achievement.

    Student Voice - English Department

    21st October 2015

    One of our Year 10 GCSE English classes expressed their interest in studying 'The Woman In Black' text when they found out it was an option in the exam.

    Mrs Fletcher, English Teacher, listened to their comments and this week took delivery of a class set of these books.

    We take student voice very seriously, and know the advantages it has in engaging learning at all levels. Happy Reading Year 10!

    We are thrilled to announce that we have now got SOLIDWORKS, the industry standard 3D CAD software used by major industry, universities and colleges thus creating a seamless transition for our students to take up the exiting range of stem subjects.

  • London Trip 2016

    18th September 2015

    If your child is in Year 7 or 8, they will have received a letter and booking form for the London 2016 trip. This is always a hugely popular experience for our students. This year sees us visiting the London Dungeons, The Sea Life Aquarium and the brand new 'Shrek's Experience' to name a few.

  • Parental Communication Evening: 1 - 9 Grading

    There will be a parental communication evening to provide information on the new changes to GCSE grades. Beginning at 6pm in the Atrium with a presentation from Mr G Levitt, Vice Principal

  • Year 11 Parental Engagement Evening

    10th September 2015

    To encourage parental engagement and to strengthen communication links, Melior will be hosting a parental engagement evening for our Year 11 students. This evening will give you the opportunity to meet the year team who will be working with your child and to gather information for the year ahead. The evening begins at 4.30pm on Wednesday, 16th September in the Atrium. Appointment sheets will be going home with students however a sheet is attached for your informaiton. We look forward to seeing you there.

    The Academy re-opens to students on Thursday 3rd September. Please note that the start times have been staggered as follows:


    Year 7 to arrive for 8.30am for an 8.40am start

    All other year groups to arrive at 9.30am

  • Open Morning and Open Evening

    27th August 2015

    Our Open Morning and Evening will take place on Thursday, 10th September from 9am until 10am and 6pm until 8pm for Year 5 and Year 6 primary school students. This is a valuable opportunity to find out more about life at Melior and what can be expected should your child join us over the coming years. Further information will be going out to Primary Schools in readiness for the start of the new term however should you have any questions, do please contact the school.

    We are very delighted to announce that 8 of our students have been accepted into MENSA and would like to congratulate them.

    They are T Lamotte, D Gaffney, FTaylor-Drakes, K Wainer, A Harasim, D Marsh, J Dickinson and S Longbottom.

    They achieved IQ's ranging from 148 up to 162 (Einstein had an IQ of 160).

    Very well done to all!

  • Achievement Assemblies

    Message to parents to inform them that the Achievement Assemblies shecduled for this week are no longer going ahead.  Due to all the recent staffing changes within Academy in respect of Phase Leaders and Progress Leaders it has been agreed it would be more appropriate to carry the assemblies forward to the next academic year.

  • Prom Update

    8th July 2015

    Prom is being at Hemswell Court and the arrival time is between 6pm and 7pm.  Students will dine at 7.30pm.  Students are able to use Melior Academy Car Park as a pick up point, however, there will be no drinks reception at Melior.  Students can be collected by parents between 10.30pm and 11.00pm.

  • RAF Northolt Centenary

    18th June 2015

    Jacob Wright a Year 7 student at Melior attended the RAF Northolt Centenary.  He attended the Polish Memorial and also worked with the RAF Regiment in giving talks on the deactivated Bren Gun.  These talks included demonstrations on how to strip, reassemble and use the gun.  The Veterans of 303 Squadron and members of the Polish Embassy were all very enthusiastic with Jacob and discussed their time serving with him.  Everyone commented on how smart, polite and knowledgeable he was.
