Today in form time students have been shown this assembly about Independent Learning.  As students have missed a lot of school time due to the national lockdown and perhaps periods of self-isolation, we are looking at ways to help them catch up on missed work. Regular independent learning helps students to consolidate learning from lessons and provide them with the skills they will need to revise for assessments. 

As the video below explains independent learning will be split into 2 parts: Compulsory Tasks and Additional Tasks. Compulsory tasks are for ALL students, and we would expect students to spend at least 1 hour a day Monday – Friday on these tasks. The additional tasks are for students who are self-isolating and need to catch up on missed lesson time. This video explains this in detail and how to access the work.
