Welcome to Melior Community Academy
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Melior Community Academy. Choosing the right secondary school is one of the most important decisions in a young person’s life and we will work tirelessly to secure the best possible educational provision and outcomes for the students.
We are a fully inclusive academy with a distinctively individual ethos, we have the highest aspirations for and expectations of our students. We work tirelessly to ensure our examination results are the best they can be and that students are able to progress onto their chosen pathways, that the students feel happy, safe and cared for, and they are proud to be here; and that students are challenged and developed academically by the stimulating and rewarding education they receive.
Melior Community Academy has an exceptionally well-qualified, talented, experienced and enthusiastic team of staff. Our staff have the highest expectations of themselves as professionals as well as of the students they will be teaching.
The reward for students’ hard work and impeccable behaviour will be an exciting, enriching learning environment and high levels of achievement. Students will have the opportunity to be fully involved in the development of their school and in the design and delivery of the curriculum, thus developing their leadership, learning and communication skills. Our “no excuses” culture will be explicit from day one and we expect every student and parent to fully support the creation of a truly outstanding Academy of which everyone can be justifiably proud.
We believe that we can only achieve the best for our students by close co-operation between home and the Academy and are working hard to ensure our communication is effective, swift and responsive to meet the needs of the students and the wider community.
We hope that the years our students spend at Melior Community Academy are happy, successful and memorable and that they will leave us as confident learners and leaders, with a sense of destiny and purpose and an understanding of how our core values can enrich the lives of everyone.
